New on the Shelf: Introducing Cannibalization Forecasting for New Product Launches

Fresh from Confido: We've introduced Cannibalization as a growth factor and AI-powered deduction classification and reasons. Check out what else is new with Confido!

🛒 Forecast the Impact of New Products

When you launch a new item, some of its sales may come at the expense of your existing products. Confido’s new Cannibalization feature lets you plan for this in advance — helping you forecast more accurately. Here’s how it works:

  1. Add a new forecasting row for the new item.

  2. Specify the planning group, date range, and impacted product(s) — along with the expected volume shift.

  3. Under the nested product view, the impacted product(s) will show the cannibalization amount directly in the forecast.

To see the new Cannibalization feature, along with Depletions and Statistical Forecasting in action, sign-up for our upcoming webinar on Tuesday, July 22nd.

👀 Focus Your Net Sales View on Forecasting

While your forecast data typically lives in the Forecast module, there may be times when you're working out of the Net Sales View instead. If that’s the case, you can filter the table to focus on just your forecasted numbers — giving you a similar view without switching modules. Here's how:

  • Toggle from Planning Group to Ship-To view in the table.

  • Then under Filter, set Forecast as your data source.

Your table will instantly update to focus only on forecasted values — you can also save this view to reference back to by clicking Save As on the top lefthand side.

ICYMI:
AI-Powered Deduction Classification & Reasons

As you work through deductions in the cash application flow, you can now define both how a deduction is classed and what it classifies to — all in real time.

  1. Define custom reasons under Automation Tools.

  2. Tag your deductions to the reason.

  3. Explain why it applies using the freeform text field.

  4. Confido will update all deductions that match criteria to automatically be classed to your desired reasons.

Bonus: When reclassifying past matching deductions, the system will indicate how many deductions were matched, if any.

To see this all in action, join our upcoming AI Reason Classification webinar next week!

✨ UI and System Updates

  • Ahold has started requiring two-factor authentication as of June 2025. Confido continues to fully support the Ahold integration — to avoid any disruptions, please complete the new 2FA setup steps.

  • New filters have been added to the Deductions and Clearing table to quickly identify outstanding deductions and their assignees.

  • Collection-level view is now supported in the Net Sales View. If there is a parent collection planning group, the results of that planning group can be reported in aggregate.
